ANUPA NSUK Chapter Celebrates Registrar’s Appointment as Pioneer President of AURA

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Chapter of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) hosted a reception on Thursday, 5th February 2026, in honour of the University Registrar, Dr. Bala I. Ahmed II, following his appointment as Pioneer President of the African Universities Registrars’ Association (AURA).

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Chapter of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) hosted a reception on Thursday, 5th February 2026, in honour of the University Registrar, Dr. Bala I. Ahmed II, following his appointment as Pioneer President of the African Universities Registrars’ Association (AURA).

Held at the NSUK Assembly Hall, the event celebrated Dr. Ahmed’s exceptional contributions to the growth and stability of NSUK and his leadership in advancing university administration across Africa.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Director of Academic Planning, Professor Benson S. Jatau, congratulated Dr. Ahmed on the historic achievement, commending his dedication to institutional and national development. She encouraged him to continue positioning NSUK as a leading centre of learning.

In his welcome address, ANUPA NSUK Chapter Chairman, Dr. John D. Efuna, highlighted the vital role of professional administrators in university operations and expressed the Chapter’s pride in Dr. Ahmed’s appointment. He offered prayers for guidance as the Registrar assumes his continental responsibilities and thanked university officials and guests for attending.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the National President of ANUPA, Dr. Victor Nkuma Bem; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Halima Aliyu Doma Kutigi; SSANU NSUK Chapter Chairman, Comrade Samuel Yakubu; and Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor, Mallam Muhammad D. Nasiru. They lauded Dr. Ahmed as the longest-serving Registrar in Nasarawa State, a pillar of NSUK’s administrative structure, and an “encyclopedia” of university governance, praising his versatility, institutional knowledge, and commitment to excellence.

In his appreciation speech, Dr. Ahmed expressed gratitude to the NSUK Management and ANUPA members for their support, acknowledging former Vice-Chancellors for their contributions to the University’s development. He emphasized that key attributes of an outstanding Registrar include mastery of university regulations, proficiency in writing and public speaking, and a strong institutional memory.

The event featured presentations of gifts, awards, and plaques recognizing Dr. Ahmed’s landmark achievement as Pioneer President of AURA. The ceremony concluded with group photographs, marking a proud moment for NSUK, ANUPA, and the broader university community.
