ASUU-BUK Joins NLC Indefinite Nationwide Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Bayero University, Kano Branch, has announced its participation in the indefinite nationwide strike action called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

In a statement signed by the Secretary, Khe Kabiru Haruna Isa, the union directed its members to abstain from all academic activities, including lectures, laboratory work, meetings, project supervision, seminar presentations, and examinations, effective Monday, June 3, 2024.

The strike action is in solidarity with the NLC's protest against the government's failure to conclude the renegotiation of minimum wage for Nigerian workers and its refusal to reverse the hike in electricity tariff.
