The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Calabar branch, has said that they will Keep on pressing home demands
The Chaiirman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) University of Calabar Branch(UNICAL) branch, Dr. John Edor, has maintained the union’s decision not to back down on its demands until they are met, Myschoolnews.ng gathered.
Dr. Edor, who listed some of the union’s demands, said the union cannot be cowered into calling off its prolonged strike action, despite the federal government’s “no work, no pay policy”
Also speaking the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Cross River state, Comrade Ben Ukpebi, who spoke on the congress’s planned nationwide protest scheduled for Tuesday July 26th to Wednesday July 27th in solidarity with ASUU, said the NLC decided to intervene, having realized the negative impacts of the prolonged strike action, on the country’s educational sector.
