The Governing Council of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, has approved the promotion of Dr. Amarachukwu Obayiuwana of the Department of Biological Sciences to the rank of Associate Professor (Reader).
The promotion was ratified during the council's meeting held on May 20, 2026, in recognition of Dr. Obayiuwana's outstanding contributions to teaching, research, scholarly publications and service to the university.
Vice-Chancellor Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students, congratulated the newly promoted academic, describing the elevation as a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, hard work and academic excellence.
The university community also celebrated the achievement, expressing confidence that Associate Professor Amarachukwu Obayiuwana will continue to make significant contributions to research, teaching and community service in her new academic role.
