Bayero University Kano (BUK) has presented 52 programmes for accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in the 2024 exercise.
This move is part of the university's commitment to ensuring quality and standards in its academic programmes.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, the university is always ready to take advice and correction to ensure quality and standards in its obligations. Abbas emphasized the importance of the accreditation exercise towards educational development, stating that the university welcomes all corrections, observations, and criticism from the accreditation team.
The NUC accreditation team, led by Professor Noel Wannang, commended the university for its warm welcome and expressed their commitment to conducting a thorough and objective assessment of the presented programmes.
BUK has a history of successful accreditation exercises, having recently received full accreditation status for six of its postgraduate programmes hosted at the Africa Centres of Excellence. The university's commitment to quality education and its openness to feedback and improvement have earned it a reputation as a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria.
