Bayero University Students Appeal for Mercy on Fees, Request Reconsideration of Schedules

The students of Bayero University Kano, led by their Class Representatives, Faculty and Departmental Presidents, and the Students Union Government, have written a letter to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, appealing for mercy on the recent hike in school fees.

The students, who are struggling to meet the financial requirements for registration, have requested the university management to reconsider the schedules of fees, citing the unavailability of student loans to alleviate their financial burdens.

In their letter, the students respectfully requested the implementation of the following:

1. An extension of the registration deadline by 2-3 months.

RECOMMENDED FOR YOU: Yobe State University Promotes Dr. Babagana Modu to Associate Professor

2. Graduating students who failed 1 or 2 courses be allowed either a resit or to pay only 30-50% of the fees.

3. A two-time payment system be introduced, particularly for students who are unable to pay at once, before the full implementation of the Students Loan.
