Baze University Honors Top Graduates with $20,000 Award Price, Job Offers and PhD Scholarships
Baze University in Abuja awarded a $20,000 prize to its top graduate, Farid Hammayo, who earned a 3.96 CGPA in Economics. Additionally, two postgraduate students, Susan Obasi (MSc Management) and Adeola Ayoola (M.Eng Civil Engineering), were offered the choice of a full PhD scholarship or a job at the university after graduating with perfect 5.0 CGPAs.

During its 11th convocation ceremony over the weekend, the prestigious institution awarded a $20,000 prize to its top graduating student, Farid Hammayo, who earned a 3.96 CGPA in Economics. The prize highlights the university’s dedication to recognizing academic excellence.
In addition to Hammayo’s achievement, Baze University offered postgraduate students Susan Obasi (MSc Management) and Adeola Ayoola (M.Eng Civil Engineering) an exclusive opportunity: a choice between a full PhD scholarship or a job offer at the university. Both students graduated with perfect 5.0 CGPAs, cementing their place as some of the top achievers in their fields.
The Chancellor of Baze University, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, expressed his pride in these students’ accomplishments, stating that the institution is committed to supporting academic excellence and fostering career growth among its brightest minds.
The ceremony also celebrated the accomplishments of 749 graduates, with 30 students earning First Class degrees. The event took a heartfelt turn as Baze University posthumously honored the late Wazirin Dutse, Mukhtar Muhammad, for his enduring legacy and service to the community.
