A fire incident at Kano State Polytechnic's School of Technology on Matan Fada Road in Kano metropolis has resulted in significant damage to the Department of Art and Industrial  building.

The fire, which occurred on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, engulfed the entire department, destroying displayed artworks, furniture, and documents.

Eyewitness Abba Ahmed reported that the fire was noticed around 5 am, and its intensity hindered efforts to extinguish it. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The Kano Fire Service has confirmed the incident and commenced investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
