BUK Appoints New Directors, Including Three Women

Bayero University Kano has appointed seven new directors, including three women, in a move that showcases the institution's commitment to gender inclusivity and administrative excellence.

Veteran journalist Lamara Garba has been appointed Director of Public Affairs, bringing over 30 years of experience in strategic roles to the position. The female appointees include Hajiya Halima Shehu Hayatu as Director of General Administration Directorate, and Hajiya Altine Maryam Ali and Hajiya Anisatu Uwaisu Muhammad as substantive Directors in the Registry department.

The appointments aim to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the university's administration, driving growth and innovation. The appointments were confirmed in an official letter signed by the University's Registrar, Malam Haruna Aliyu, on April 22, 2025.
