BUK Coach Sunusi Badway Hails Team Nigeria's Success in FIBA U18 AfroBasket 2024 Qualifiers

Bayero University's Basketball Coach, Sunusi Shuaibu, also known as Badway, has expressed delight over Team Nigeria's qualification for the next phase of the FIBA Africa U18 AfroBasket 2024 Qualifiers.

The team emerged victorious in Zone 3, held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, from July 29 to August 4, 2024.

Team Nigeria won all four matches, defeating Ghana (72-47), Liberia (82-49), Mali (108-59), and host nation Cote d'Ivoire (70-60). This achievement qualifies them for the second phase of the Qualifiers, scheduled for September 14, 2024, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Coach Badway, who serves as Assistant Coach to Fubara Humphrey, expressed gratitude to Nigerian fans and the Bayero University community for their fervent prayers and support, which contributed to the team's success. He noted that this achievement brings Nigeria closer to participating in the Junior International Basketball Tournament in South Africa.
