COLFHEC Celebrates Former FUNAAB VC, Prof. Oyewole at 70

The College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), today, September 30, 2025, honoured former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole, as he marked his 70th birthday and retirement from active service.

Held at the Green Chamber, the event brought together dignitaries, colleagues, staff, and family members who prayed for Prof. Oyewole.

The Dean of COLFHEC, Prof. Adebukunola Omemu, described him as a father and leader, while other colleagues extolled his humility, mentorship, and global academic impact.

Responding, Prof. Oyewole expressed gratitude to God, his family, and the FUNAAB Community, urging colleagues to “live with your values and never give up.”

Meanwhile, the former Vice-Chancellor was later honoured at a Special Senate Session where the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde presented him with gifts on behalf of the University.
