Gombe State University Vc Visits Faculty Of Agriculture, Malam Sidi Campus, Inspects Projects And Hostels

The Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, has paid a working visit to the Faculty of Agriculture, Malam Sidi Campus, as part of efforts to engage with students and assess facilities across the University’s campuses.  

Professor Yauta was accompanied by the Director, Physical Planning, QS Murtala Salisu; the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Professor A. B. Alhassan; and the Head of the Department of Science Education, Dr. Zubairu Suleiman.  

During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor inspected a number of ongoing projects at the Faculty, including the Artificial Insemination and Breeds Multiplication Centre, the Veterinary Clinic, and the Faculty Library.  

The Artificial Insemination and Breeds Multiplication Centre is being established under the L-PRESS Project, with Dr. Zubairu Suleiman serving as the University Liaison Officer.

Professor Yauta expressed satisfaction with the level of progress, noting that work at the Centre has reached about 65% since it commenced in June 2026. He commended the Gombe State L-PRESS Project for the intervention.  

The Vice-Chancellor also inspected the male and female students’ hostels, where he interacted directly with students and listened to their concerns regarding their experiences and challenges on the campus.  

Students highlighted issues relating to electricity supply and other basic campus facilities. Professor Yauta assured them that the University Management would take practical steps to address the challenges.

As an immediate intervention, the Vice-Chancellor directed the Directorate of Physical Planning to urgently provide a transformer for the campus to improve electricity supply.  

In addition, Professor Yauta provided financial assistance of ₦100,000 each to the male and female students in their respective hostels to support them in their studies.  

The Vice-Chancellor extended the University’s appreciation to the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for providing the Artificial Insemination and Breeds Multiplication Centre project through L-PRESS to the Malam Sidi Campus.
