Dangote Varsity Commences Skill Acquisition Training for Students

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, located in Wudil, Kano State, has initiated a skills acquisition program aimed at empowering students with practical entrepreneurial skills.
Prof. Musa Yakasai, the Vice Chancellor of the university, revealed this development during a press briefing in Wudil. He highlighted the inclusion of artisanal skills training such as tailoring, hairdressing, soap making, and welding, among others.
The program is designed to complement students' academic pursuits by equipping them with diverse entrepreneurial skills. Prof. Yakasai emphasized the importance of bridging theoretical concepts with real-life applications to prepare students for future career opportunities.
Additionally, the university management has introduced opportunities for students to engage in campus-based menial jobs to support their financial needs. Plans are also underway to utilize 17 acres of land for irrigation and mechanized farming, aiming to enhance the university's revenue generation capacity.

Moreover, a consultancy services unit has been established within the university to offer consultancy services to the public, contributing to revenue generation for the institution.
