Professor Deborah Esan is a prominent figure in the field of Nursing, specializing in community and public health nursing at the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, Bowen University in Iwo, Nigeria. Her academic journey is a testament to her dedication and commitment to the profession. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, in 2008, followed by a Master's degree in Public Health from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2014. Her academic achievements culminated in a Ph.D. from the University of Ibadan in 2021.

Professor Esan is an active member of the Alpha Alpha Upsilon Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She embarked on her teaching career as a graduate assistant at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, in 2012. Through unwavering dedication and hard work, she ascended to the rank of an associate professor before joining Bowen University Iwo, where she currently holds the prestigious position of a full professor and serves as the pioneering Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Science.

Notably, Professor Esan boasts extensive research experience, with an impressive publication record that includes over 60 articles in reputable journals. More than 35 of these articles have been published in Scopus-indexed journals. Her research interests encompass critical areas such as cancer risk factors, prevention, and screening, community midwifery, and public health nursing research.

Recognizing her remarkable contributions to the nursing field, Professor Esan was recently honored with the global award of 'Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar for Africa Region' by the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In addition to her research accolades, she has supervised over 80 undergraduate research thesis/projects, three master's student research projects, and currently guides four Ph.D. students in Nursing.

Beyond her professional achievements, Professor Esan is a devoted family woman. She is married to Dr. Theophilus Olaide Esan, a Senior Registrar at the Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery department of Federal Teaching Hospital in Ido-Ekiti. Their union has been blessed with two lovely daughters.
