The incident occurred on Tuesday, 14th November 2025, in Ado-Ekiti as a result of a road accident.
Professor Olufayo, widely known as Olu Olu, was the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and a former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at EKSU. Colleagues and students remember him as a reserved, humble, and dedicated academic whose contributions to scholarship and labour relations left a lasting impact.

The university has expressed condolences to Professor Olufayo’s family, friends, and students, praying for strength during this difficult period. His legacy in research, leadership, and mentorship will continue to inspire generations of social scientists.
