Federal Poly Oko Rector Meets Microfinance Bank Board; Pledges Continued Support for Staff Welfare

Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko on Friday, April 24, 2026 received in the audience the members of the Federal Polytechnic Oko Staff Micro Finance bank led by their chairman, Dr. Mbanefo C.A.O at the Rector's office.

Also in the visit were the management of the Federal Polytechnic Oko Staff Multi Purpose Cooperative Society led by the chairman, John Omaliko and Business Manager, Dr. Ubaka Chukwugekwu.

The Board chairman of the micro finance bank, Dr. Mbanefo expressed joy over Rector's transformation agenda in the Polytechnic especially in the area of infrastructure and staff and students welfare.

He reflected on how he clamoured for an internal Rector while serving as a Governing Council member of the Polytechnic expressing happiness that the dream eventually came through.

Chairman of the Staff Multi Purpose Cooperative Society, Omaliko John in his words, assured Rector and management of the Cooperative society's support at all times. 

Rector and the entire management team were invited by the cooperative society's Annual General Meeting slated to hold on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Responding, Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie thanked the board members and management of the Staff Cooperative Society for the peaceful coexistence between the Polytechnic management and the cooperative society 

She commended them for the way they support staff welfare through financial services, including educational loans and commodity purchases, thereby improving the living standards of their members.

"We thank you for the mutual benefit and I am happy with the way the micro finance bank operates. I promise to continue this peaceful coexistence and we will continue to encourage our staff and students to patronise the bank" she promised.
