Students of the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (formerly The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro) have been issued a firm ultimatum regarding access to campus facilities and participation in the 2025/2026 First Semester Examinations.
Students of the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (formerly The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro) have been issued a firm ultimatum regarding access to campus facilities and participation in the 2025/2026 First Semester Examinations.
In an internal memo dated February 26, 2026, the Registrar announced that only students who have settled the approved service charges and possess the official 2025/2026 Student Identification Card will be allowed to attend lectures, tests, or examinations. Attendance at exams will be strictly biometric, ensuring only eligible students can sit for their papers.

The directive applies to all students—including ND I, ND II, HND I, HND II, part-time, and ODFL programmes—and extends to access to university services. The Medical Centre, Library, ICT facilities, Innovation Centre, Studios, Laboratories, and Workshops will all enforce the ID requirement.
To ensure compliance, the university will launch “Operation Show Your Receipt and ID Card” next week. Students must present both their official payment receipt and ID card to gain entry to any facility.
The memo, signed by Mr. S. M. F. Babatola, Chairman, Security Committee, warns: “No Current Identification Card, No Access to Institutional Facilities and No First Semester Examination.”
Students yet to regularise their status are urged to do so immediately to avoid missing lectures, tests, and exams.
