Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Bonny has opened discussions on a strategic partnership with Technoville Innovation Nigeria, an indigenous ICT company based in Bonny Island, Rivers State, aimed at strengthening digital skills training and enhancing student employability.

The engagement took place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, when the Rector of the institution, Victor Okolobah, received a delegation from Technoville Innovation Nigeria led by Mr. Richard Pepple.

The meeting focused on potential areas of collaboration, particularly in the training and retraining of students to complement classroom learning with practical, industry-relevant digital technology skills.

The company noted that the partnership is intended to bridge the gap between academic instruction and real-world ICT applications, with emphasis on preparing students for evolving demands in the global technology ecosystem.

A notable highlight of the engagement was the presence of Mr. Channel Chilbiunna, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Bonny and a member of the visiting delegation, which the Rector described as a strong testament to the institution’s growing alumni impact.

Victor Okolobah reiterated that while students already undergo compulsory skill acquisition programmes, continuous training and retraining remain essential for maintaining global competitiveness in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
