Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Bonny Rector Receives Guard of Honour from Students’ Union
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Dr. Victor Okolobah, has received a guard of honour and standing ovation from the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the institution in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and contributions to the growth of the Polytechnic.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Dr. Victor Okolobah, has received a guard of honour and standing ovation from the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the institution in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and contributions to the growth of the Polytechnic.
The SUG, led by its President, Comrade Joshua Oyenuga, visited the Rector in his office on Monday, July 19, 2026, to appreciate his efforts towards repositioning the institution and improving the welfare of students.
During the visit, the student body highlighted the Rector’s achievements, including infrastructural development, successful accreditation of academic programmes, and his commitment to prioritising students’ welfare.
The students described Dr. Okolobah’s leadership as transformational, citing his focus on institutional development, innovation, and creating an environment that supports both academic excellence and student success.

Responding to the gesture, the Rector expressed appreciation to the students for the recognition and assured them of his continued commitment to their safety, welfare, and overall development.
Dr. Okolobah stated that he would continue to do everything within his capacity to ensure that students enjoy a conducive learning environment and benefit from the institution’s growth initiatives.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a gift by the Students’ Union Government to the Rector in appreciation of his service and leadership.
