FUEP Vice-Chancellor Tasks New Alumni Executives on Grants and Institutional Impact

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Nenman Wannang, has challenged the newly inaugurated executives of the University’s Alumni Association to leverage their professional experience to attract grants and drive meaningful impact for their alma mater.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Professor Wannang described the alumni as "vital stakeholders" whose contributions in funding, reputation management, and institutional networking are essential for the university's growth. He urged the new leadership to work assiduously to transform the association’s dynamics and strengthen its support for research and mentorship.

The transition follows a period of inactivity within the association. Mrs. Margaret Jatau, Chairperson of the Electoral Committee, noted that a caretaker committee had been previously appointed specifically to organize this election and restore formal leadership. Following a motion by Comr. Daár Ezekiel Sambo and seconded by Murphey Dyikuk, the caretaker and electoral committees were officially dissolved to make way for the new executive cabinet.

The oath of office was administered by Barrister Fotshak Nanribet, who charged the officials to remain steadfast to their pledge of allegiance.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Comr. Filshak Shangka Goár, commended the maturity displayed by members during the electoral process. He assured the Vice-Chancellor that his team is committed to the values of excellence, integrity, and service, with a primary focus on supporting the university’s mission and vision.
