FULafia Appoints Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida as New Vice-Chancellor

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has announced the appointment of Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as its new Vice-Chancellor.

Before his appointment, Professor Kida served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Science and is widely regarded as an accomplished academic and professional accountant. His appointment letter, signed by the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande, was dated October 29, 2025.

According to the letter, Professor Kida’s tenure will span a single term of five years, commencing on February 11, 2026. The Governing Council expressed confidence in his capacity to deploy his vast administrative and academic experience to further the growth, innovation, and global standing of the institution.

Professor Kida takes over from Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, whose tenure will come to an end in February 2026.
