FULafia to Implement Street Naming, House Numbering in Student Residential Areas

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has announced plans to name streets and number houses in neighboring communities housing students, aimed at enhancing order and organization in the areas.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the initiative will facilitate easier recognition and relation with occupants, provide a sense of order and organization, and aid emergency responders in locating those in need.

FULafia is collaborating with relevant government agencies, including the Lafia Local Government Council, village heads, and community leaders to ensure the success of the exercise.

The announcement was made during an interactive meeting with staff from the Directorate of Environmental Safety, Students Welfare Committee, FULafia Consult Ltd, Health Services, and the Students Representative Council (SRC).

Present at the meeting were top university officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Administration, Prof. Ali Shugaba, Registrar, Nuradeen Abdu, and others.
