FULafia VC Charges Postgraduate Students to Uphold Integrity and Academic Excellence

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has urged newly admitted postgraduate students to uphold integrity, innovation and academic excellence throughout their studies.

He gave the charge while declaring open the University’s 8th Postgraduate Orientation Programme, organised by the College of Postgraduate Studies and held at the Adamu Adamu Multipurpose Lecture Hall, Permanent Site Campus.

Abdul Rahman congratulated the students, advising them to familiarise themselves with the University’s academic environment, rules and procedures

He said that FULafia operates a unique academic and administrative culture, encouraging active participation in seminars and workshops to strengthen research capacity.

He warned that disciplinary measures would be fairly applied when University's laws were violated.

Earlier, the Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Victor S. Dugga, attributed the development of postgraduate programmes in the University to the vice-chancellor’s leadership, highlighting the college’s digitalisation and introduction of online programmes.

He announced new publication requirements for postgraduate students beginning in 2026.

The programme featured paper presentations and ended with an interactive session between some staff and students.
