In a significant boost to the spiritual infrastructure of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, HRM Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (Odundun IV), has reaffirmed his commitment to the successful completion of the University Mosque.
The monarch made the pledge during the 36th FUNAAB Ramadan Lecture held on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Attending the annual event for the first time since his appointment, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land lauded the Muslim community's dedication and urged well-meaning individuals to contribute to the "House of Allah."
The event featured a keynote lecture by the Chief Imam of the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI), Imam Bashir Femi Umar. Speaking on the theme, "Ramadan: Transforming Lives and Building Unity," the cleric emphasized that the holy month is a season for moral discipline and service to humanity.
"Ramadan goes beyond abstinence from food and drink; it is a shield against sinful acts and a divine opportunity to promote equity," Imam Umar stated. He further cautioned Islamic leaders against un-Islamic practices, urging them to lead with integrity and generosity.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde (represented by the DVC Development, Professor Olawale Dairo), commended the FUNAAB Muslim Community for sustaining the 36-year intellectual tradition.
The Amir of the Muslim Community, Professor Lateef Sanni (represented by Professor Adesina Agboola), provided a financial and structural update on the mosque project, expressing gratitude for the Pro-Chancellor's financial contributions and the selfless service of the site engineers.
