 The College of Health Sciences, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has marked a historic milestone with the successful conduct of its maiden orientation programme for newly admitted students.

The event, designed to integrate fresh medical and health science students into the university’s rigorous academic culture, centered on the core themes of integrity, innovation, and excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Isa Kida (represented by Professor Dlama Joseph Zira), congratulated the pioneers of the college. He charged the students to foster professional and cordial relationships with their lecturers while maintaining a disciplined focus to avoid academic distractions.

Reinforcing the college's commitment to high ethical standards, the Provost, Professor Aleruchi Chuku (represented by Professor Surajuden Junaid), emphasized that the medical profession leaves no room for mediocrity. He declared a zero-tolerance policy toward examination malpractice, stressing that technical competence is the only pathway to success in health sciences. 

A highlight of the orientation was the keynote address by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia (FUTHL), Dr. Hassan Ikrama. Addressing the "next generation of healers," Dr. Ikrama identified four pillars essential for modern medical practice:

The orientation concluded with interactive sessions led by faculty heads, providing the new students with a roadmap for their clinical and pre-clinical journeys at FULafia
