Graduating from the Department of Chemical Engineering with a near-perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.83/5.00, Muhammad’s performance was described by the university community as "exceptional."

His academic dominance was reflected in an unprecedented haul of accolades during the convocation ceremony held on Saturday, January 31, 2026. His awards include:

Overall Best Graduating Student Prize: MAU Yola.

Dean’s Award: Most outstanding student in the Faculty of Engineering.

Pro-Chancellor & Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: For top-tier academic excellence across the institution.

Muhammad’s success is being hailed as a blueprint for "discipline and consistency." Despite the rigorous nature of Chemical Engineering, he maintained a trajectory that positioned him as the top scholar among over 7,000 graduands. 

In his message to fellow students, he emphasized that excellence is "not magic," but the result of "daily effort and refusing to settle." His record-breaking performance has drawn praise from the National Universities Commission (NUC) stakeholders as a testament to the quality of engineering education in North-Eastern Nigeria. 

As the highest-achieving student of the 30th convocation, Muhammad is expected to be a top candidate for post-graduate fellowships and international research opportunities. His achievement adds to the growing prestige of MAU Yola, which was recently transitioned into a conventional university to offer a broader range of courses, including Medicine and Law
