Renowned Consultant Radiologist Prof. Mansur Yahuza Dies

The University community and the health sector in Kano State are mourning the sudden demise of Prof. Mansur Yahuza, a Consultant Radiologist and former Head of the Department of Radiology, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, AKTH.

Prof. Yahuza, an indigene of Barebari in Makoda Local Government Area of Kano State, passed away on the night of 17 August 2026.

Colleagues and associates described the late professor as a dedicated medical professional, mentor, and administrator who contributed immensely to radiology practice, training, and patient care at AKTH and beyond.

He served as Head of the Department of Radiology at AKTH, where he was known for his commitment to excellence, professionalism, and the development of young doctors and radiologists.

The Janazah prayer is scheduled for 8:00am at the family house on Court Road, Kano.

May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. May He also grant his family, colleagues, and students the fortitude to bear the loss.
