FULafia Management Enforces Strict Registration and Examination Protocols to Safeguard Academic Integrity
The Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), in a joint resolution with the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and the Students’ Integrity Club (SIC), has announced a series of rigorous academic policies aimed at curbing student non-compliance and maintaining the integrity of university results.
The new directives, effective from February 2, 2026, come as a direct response to observed patterns of "lukewarm attitudes" toward registration guidelines and the repeated abuse of previous administrative leniencies.
In a significant departure from previous sessions, the University has declared that all registration deadlines will now be strictly enforced without exception. Once the student portal closes for the session, it will remain closed.
Students who fail to complete their registration within the designated timeline will no longer be granted extensions. Instead, such individuals will be required to either defer their studies or apply for discontinuation as a student of the University. Furthermore, the practice of adding or dropping courses after the portal has closed is now strictly prohibited.

The institution highlighted the risks associated with the frequent reopening of portals after examination results have been vetted, noting that such actions could compromise the overall integrity of the University’s academic records. Heads of Departments have been mandated to closely monitor all academic activities to ensure total compliance with these reviewed policies.
The joint statement, signed by SUG President Ishaqa Abubakar Ishaqa and SIC President Oyindamola Faith Idowu, urges the entire student community to prioritize timely registration to ensure a smooth academic experience.
