FUNAAB Partners with Polaris Bank, NCF, and ATCN to Plant 3,000 Trees on Campus
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has partnered with Polaris Bank, the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), and the American Tower Corporation Nigeria (ATCN) to plant 3,000 trees on its campus. This initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability and reduce the university's carbon footprint.
The tree-planting exercise features 1,400 Terminalia Superba (Afara/Yellow Pine), 900 Parkia biglobosa (Iru/Locust Beans), and 700 Khaya Ivorensis (Oganwo/Mahogany). FUNAAB's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, expressed gratitude to the donors and reaffirmed the university's dedication to nurturing the seedlings to maturity.
This project aligns with the United Nations' environmental goals, focusing on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience. The partnership demonstrates the commitment of Polaris Bank, NCF, and ATCN to environmental stewardship and community well-being.
