FUNAAB VC Joins Chinese Consul General To Celebrate China’s 76th Anniversary
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on September 22, 2025, joined the Chinese Consul General in Lagos, Ms. Yan Yuqing, to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The grand reception, held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, brought together diplomats, senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives from academic institutions to celebrate China’s achievements and decades of growth.

For the Vice-Chancellor, the occasion provided an avenue to deepen institutional ties with the Consul General and engage with key stakeholders in education, trade, and international cooperation.
Prof. Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, reaffirmed FUNAAB’s dedication to strengthening global partnerships, particularly with China, in research, innovation, and agriculture. He stressed that such collaborations align with the University’s guiding philosophy of knowledge for development.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor’s representative were the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun; Head of the Department of Animal Production and Health, Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale; and Mr. Johnson Olukehinde.
