The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Babatunde Kehinde, has lauded the Google Developers Group (GDG) on Campus for their commitment to technological innovation and global competitiveness.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the group on January 7, 2026, Prof. Kehinde reaffirmed the university administration's dedication to fostering a robust tech ecosystem for students. He encouraged the developers to emulate successful alumni like BudgIT founder, Seun Onigbinde, by leveraging their academic background to solve real-world national challenges.

The Team Lead of GDG on Campus, Mr. Ahmad Yusuf, highlighted the group's recent successes, noting that members have specialized in high-demand tracks such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Full-Stack Development.

"Through the enabling environment provided by this administration, our members have secured international speaking engagements and published technical papers at global conferences," Yusuf stated.

In a significant move for the campus tech community, the group announced it will host the G-Spark Summit on April 5, 2026. The summit will mark FUNAAB’s first student-led global technology event, aimed at showcasing innovation and fostering collaboration with the wider Google Developer network.
