The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) will hold its 20th Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the New 1000-Sitting Capacity Auditorium on the university’s main campus.

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) will hold its 20th Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the New 1000-Sitting Capacity Auditorium on the university’s main campus.

The event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.

The lecture, titled “Resiliency in Developing Resilient and Sustainable Structural Concrete Materials for Sustainable Civil Infrastructure, from Agricultural Wastes,” will be delivered by Professor Christopher Ajiboye Fapohunda, a Professor of Civil and Structural Engineering at FUOYE.

Professor Fapohunda, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), is widely recognized for his research in sustainable engineering and the innovative use of local materials for construction.

According to the University’s Public Relations Office, the lecture will highlight the transformative potential of agricultural waste in creating resilient and eco-friendly concrete materials. Professor Fapohunda’s presentation is expected to address how such innovations can contribute to sustainable civil infrastructure while minimizing environmental impact and construction costs.
