The leadership of the Man O’ War command at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), changed hands on Saturday, September 14, 2024, during the 36th investiture and passing out parade. Patriot Oluwaleye Iyanu, the outgoing Chief Coordinator, handed over the baton to Patriot Stanley Olisa, who will lead the command for the 2024/2025 academic year.

In his farewell address, Patriot Oluwaleye highlighted the achievements of the past year, including self-defense training, skill acquisition programs, establishing a new command at OSUSTECH, and enhancing digital base management. He encouraged the new leadership to maintain the tradition of selfless service and dedication to the FUTA community.

Prof. Adenike Oladiji, the Vice-Chancellor of FUTA, represented by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. David Oke, praised the outgoing officers for their contributions to the university. She urged the new leadership to continue promoting an inclusive environment through collaboration with other student bodies.

The Review Officer, Prof. Yemisi Adeparusi, lauded the resourcefulness of Man O’ War members, urging them to seek mentorship and follow in the footsteps of their predecessors for success. In his acceptance speech, the incoming Chief Coordinator, Patriot Stanley Olisa, pledged to uphold the values of the club and contribute to FUTA’s growth.

The event also saw the investiture of new patrons, including Professors Muftau Smith, Yemisi Adeparusi, Modupe Ajayi, and Mrs. Florence Adetunji. Other newly appointed officers include Patriot Obasi Stanley (Chief Coordinator), Patriot Hundeyin Jeremiah (Deputy Chief Coordinator), and Patriot Taiwo John (Chief of Training and Operations).
