FUTES-IYIN Releases Proposed 2026/2027 Academic Calendar

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has released its proposed academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session. The calendar was published on August 12, 2026.

The calendar contains schedules for both returning and fresh students, covering resumption, registration, lectures, revision, examinations and processing of results.

For returning students, the first semester will commence with resumption on Monday, October 12, 2026, while registration will run from Monday, October 12 to Friday, October 23, 2026. Lectures are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 19, 2026, while late registration with penalty will take place from Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30, 2026.

The first semester schedule for returning students is as follows:

• Monday, October 12, 2026 — Resumption of returning students.
• Monday, October 12–23, 2026 — Registration weeks for returning students.
• Monday, October 19, 2026 — Lectures begin.
• Monday, October 26–Friday, October 30, 2026 — Late registration with penalty.

• Monday, January 4, 2027 — Resumption from the end-of-year break.
• Friday, January 29, 2027 — Lectures end for returning students.
• Monday, February 1–Friday, February 5, 2027 — Revision weeks for returning students.
• Monday, February 8, 2027 — First semester examination begins for returning students.
• Saturday, February 19, 2027 — First semester examination ends.
• Monday, February 22–Friday, April 2, 2027 — Marking of scripts and result processing.

The first semester is expected to run for 17 weeks, comprising:

• Registration/Orientation — 1 week.
• Lectures — 13 weeks.
• Revision — 1 week.
• Examinations — 2 weeks.

For the second semester, returning students are scheduled to resume and register on Monday, March 15, 2027. Lectures are also scheduled to begin on Monday, March 15, while late registration will take place from Monday, March 22 to Friday, March 26, 2027.

• Monday, March 15, 2027 — Resumption/registration of second semester.
• Monday, March 22–Friday, March 26, 2027 — Late registration.

• Friday, June 11, 2027 — Lectures end.
• Monday, June 14–Friday, June 18, 2027 — Revision week.
• Monday, June 21–Saturday, July 3, 2027 — Second semester examination.

• Monday, July 5–Friday, August 13, 2027 — Marking of scripts and result processing.

For fresh students, resumption is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026.
