GMKCHST Nguru Successfully Hosts Accreditation Exercise for Medical X-Ray Technician Department
The Medical X-Ray Technician Department of Galtima Mai Kyari College of Health Sciences and Technology, GMKCHST, Nguru, Yobe State, successfully hosted an accreditation exercise on Thursday, July 25, 2025. This important milestone marks a major step toward strengthening diagnostic healthcare education in Yobe State.
The achievement came as a result of the tireless commitment and exceptional leadership of the Provost, Dr. Garba Ibrahim Turjiman, MBBS, FWACS, who led the institution's preparations with diligence and professionalism. He worked closely with his supportive team to ensure all requirements were met to standard.
Special commendation and heartfelt appreciation go to his Deputy, Mal. Baba Hussaini Nguru; the College Registrar, Hajiya Fatima Baba Malum Wali; and the Bursar, Alh. Ali Ahmed Gulani, for their critical roles and dedication toward the success of the accreditation process.
The Provost also expressed deep gratitude to the security agencies for their cooperation and efforts in maintaining a peaceful and organized environment throughout the exercise.

The College extends its profound thanks to the Government of Yobe State, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, Zannah Gaddaman Machina, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, for his continuous support to educational advancement in the health sector. Appreciation also goes to Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, Wazirin Fune, the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, and Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, mni, Walin Nguru, the Secretary to the State Government, for their steady encouragement and institutional backing.
It is important to note that the Medical X-Ray Technician course is not a minor program. It is a highly specialized and technical field requiring academic rigor and practical competence. Students are trained in radiographic imaging, anatomy, the operation of diagnostic equipment, and patient care. In Northern Nigeria, this program is rarely found in many colleges, making its availability at GMKCHST Nguru a valuable and strategic asset to the region.
Graduates of this program are equipped to serve as X-Ray Technicians, Imaging Technologists, and Radiologic Technicians in both public and private healthcare institutions. The successful accreditation further establishes GMKCHST as a center of excellence committed to producing skilled healthcare professionals capable of meeting national and global standards.
