Gombe State University Hosts Ministry of Higher Education on Official Visit

Gombe State University (GSU) recently welcomed a high-powered delegation from the Gombe State Ministry of Higher Education, led by Honorable Commissioner Alhaji Muhammed Shetima Gadam.

The visit, which took place on February 8, 2025, aimed to assess the university's progress and challenges.

The delegation was received by Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, alongside other principal officers of the university. The visit commenced with a comprehensive tour of the university's facilities, including the ongoing construction of the ultramodern Senate Building.

 

Following the tour, an interactive session was held between the university's principal officers and the ministry's delegation. Honorable Commissioner Gadam emphasized Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's vision and dedication to advancing higher education in the state.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Yauta expressed appreciation for the ministry's visit, noting that it was the first time such an oversight visit had been conducted. The visit provided a golden opportunity for the university to present its concerns and challenges directly to the ministry, fostering mutual understanding and stronger institutional support.

 

The visit concluded on a highly optimistic note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to continuous engagement, policy-driven solutions, and infrastructural expansion for the benefit of students and staff.
