GSU Vice-Chancellor Inspects Key Projects at College of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Agriculture
The Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, yesterday conducted an inspection visit to ongoing projects at the clinical arm of the University’s College of Medical Sciences. The projects inspected include the construction of new laboratories and a student hostel aimed at strengthening teaching, research, and accommodation facilities within the College.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor urged the contractor to strictly adhere to the project timelines and ensure that all work meets the required standards, quality, and specifications. He emphasized that the projects are of great importance to the University, noting that their timely completion will significantly enhance teaching, research, and student accommodation within the clinical arm of the College of Medical Sciences.
In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor also visited the Faculty of Agriculture at Malam Sidi to inspect ongoing projects and building restructuring works being carried out to suit the academic and operational requirements of the Faculty.
Professor Yauta expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded so far and commended the contractors for the work done. He, however, urged them to further expedite action to ensure the timely completion of the projects, particularly as the University has already admitted the pioneer set of students into the Faculty. He noted that lectures for the first set of students are expected to commence immediately after the Sallah break.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor during the inspection at the clinical arm of the College of Medical Sciences were the Director of Physical Planning, QS Murtala Salisu, and the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Professor Joshua Abubakar Difa.
During the visit to the Faculty of Agriculture at Malam Sidi, the Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Director of Physical Planning, QS Murtala Salisu, and the Head of the Department of Animal Science and Coordinator of the Artificial Insemination (AI) and Breed Multiplication Centre, Professor Haruna A. Alkali.
