A lecturer at Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi, Dr Emmanuel Aime, faced a violent attack after being accused of organ theft. The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 10 am in Makurdi, Benue State capital.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, condemned the incident, stating that two suspects had been arrested. Anene expressed dismay over the lack of respect for the law and called for the involvement of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community leaders to address such barbaric acts. She assured that the arrested individuals would face appropriate consequences.
