A lecturer at Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi, Dr Emmanuel Aime, faced a violent attack after being accused of organ theft. The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 10 am in Makurdi, Benue State capital.

According to an eyewitness, the lecturer, who is also a pastor at Living Faith Church in the city, was accused by a young man who raised an alarm about his missing organ. The accuser pointed at Dr Emmanuel Aime, leading to a group of young people swiftly assaulting him.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, condemned the incident, stating that two suspects had been arrested. Anene expressed dismay over the lack of respect for the law and called for the involvement of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community leaders to address such barbaric acts. She assured that the arrested individuals would face appropriate consequences.
