Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Bans Illegal Fees and Extortion, Enforces New Regulations

Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has announced a strict ban on unlawful practices including illegal appreciation payments, extortion, and arbitrary charges for textbooks and practicals. The university's Senate condemned these practices, which have been tarnishing its reputation and attracting negative publicity.

Effective from August 28, 2024, the Senate warns all lecturers to cease these practices immediately or face severe disciplinary action. Additionally, the University has abolished the Course Rep. or Course Leader system. All textbooks will now be sold at approved prices through designated bookshops. A Book Review Committee will be reconstituted to oversee this process.
