Kaduna State University Begins Construction of Cutting-Edge ICT Experience Centre

Kaduna State University (KASU) has commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art ICT experience centre at its Kaduna Campus. The groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, marks the beginning of a transformative project aimed at enhancing digital education at the institution.

The project, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and facilitated by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative. This initiative seeks to establish six ICT experience centres across the country’s geopolitical zones, with KASU serving as the host institution for the North West region.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, welcomed stakeholders during the site handover and groundbreaking ceremony. She expressed profound appreciation to TETFUND and the First Lady for selecting KASU as the pilot institution in the North West.

Prof. Andow highlighted the longstanding collaboration between TETFUND and KASU, underscoring the strategic significance of the ICT experience centre. She emphasized that the initiative aligns perfectly with the university’s newly launched distant learning programs, further expanding the institution’s digital education framework. She assured that the university management is fully committed to supporting the contractors to ensure the timely and successful completion of the project.

Once completed, the ICT experience centre is expected to revolutionize the technological and educational landscape of Kaduna State University, setting a benchmark for digital education and fostering innovation in the region.
