Kano-Born Sheikh Nasir Almaliky Honoured at International Arabic Literature Conference in Syria

Sheikh Nasir Almaliky, a young Islamic scholar from Kano State, Nigeria, has been honoured at an international Arabic literature conference organised for the first time by the Syrian Ministry of Culture.

The recognition was presented during a gathering that brought together scholars, writers, and experts in Arabic literature from different parts of the world.

According to reports, Syria's Minister of Culture, Mohammed Yassin Saleh, presented the award to Sheikh Nasir Almaliky during the event, recognising his contribution and standing in the field of Arabic scholarship and literature.

Sheikh Nasir Almaliky is from a prominent family of Islamic scholarship in Kano. He is the son of the late Malam Aliyu Al-Kawwas Sheikh Nasir Kabara and the grandson of the renowned Islamic scholar and Amirul Jaish, Sheikh Nasir Kabara.

His recognition in Syria represents another notable achievement for Nigerian scholars contributing to the preservation, promotion, and advancement of Arabic language and Islamic scholarship on the international stage.

The honour also highlights the longstanding tradition of Arabic scholarship in Northern Nigeria and the contributions of Nigerian scholars to intellectual and literary discourse beyond the country's borders.
