Kano State Governor Celebrate 84 Sponsored Graduates, Offers Automatic Employment

A total of 84 Kano State graduates have received their certificates from the Near East University in Northern Cyprus after the state government settled their outstanding tuition and accommodation fees.
The students, who were initially sponsored under a foreign scholarship scheme introduced by former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, faced significant challenges after the previous administration discontinued funding.
The students had endured years of hardship, uncertainty, and international embarrassment, with some facing legal threats and severe financial and emotional trauma. The state government has paid a total of N2.24 billion to secure the certificates of the students.
The graduates include 28 medical students and others in paramedical and engineering fields. The state government has directed the automatic employment of the graduates into the Kano State Civil Service.
This development marks a significant milestone for the students, who can now pursue their careers and contribute to the development of the state.
