Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, the Rector of Kano State Polytechnic (KSP), was honored with an award of excellence by the Kano State Higher Institutions Games Association (KASHIGA) on Monday, 9th December 2024.

The award was presented during a thank-you visit by the local organizing committee of the 11th KASHIGA Tournament, tagged "Governor's Cup, 2024." Dr. Abubakar Adamu Karaye, Chairman of the association, praised the Rector for his significant contributions to the success of the event and his efforts in reviving sporting activities at the institution.

In response, Dr. Farouk expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reiterated his commitment to enhancing sports at KSP, announcing the establishment of a dedicated unit to manage sporting affairs for both staff and students.
