KHAIRUN Management Pays Courtesy Visit to Kano State Commissioner of Police, Reaffirms Commitment to Strategic Security Partnership

The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Wednesday, 26th August 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, at the State Police Command Headquarters, Bompai, Kano.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between KHAIRUN and the Kano State Police Command, as well as promoting greater cooperation in the areas of security, education and community development.

In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity and appreciated the Commissioner for receiving the university delegation. He explained that the visit is part of KHAIRUN’s tradition of paying courtesy visits to newly posted Commissioners of Police, noting that this was the third such visit since the establishment of the university.

Prof. Garba gave a brief history of KHAIRUN, describing the University as a lasting legacy of its founder, the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu. He also highlighted the university’s unique compulsory programmes, including Qur’anic Recitation and Memorization, Moral Lessons, Entrepreneurship, and international languages, which are aimed at developing students academically, morally and practically.

The Vice-Chancellor further expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force for its continued support to the university and thanked CP Bakori for the opportunity to pay the visit.

Responding, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, expressed appreciation for the visit and described it as timely and strategic. He commended KHAIRUN for sustaining the ideals of its founder, particularly in the areas of education and moral development, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu.

The Commissioner stressed the importance of preserving Islamic and moral values, noting that their decline has contributed to some of the social challenges facing society. He also emphasized the importance of continuous learning, self development and professionalism, encouraging police personnel to take advantage of the educational opportunities provided by KHAIRUN.

CP Bakori assured the university management of the command’s continued support and prompt response to its security needs. He directed Area commanders and divisional police officers within the university’s area of responsibility to maintain close liaison with the university’s security unit for effective information sharing and crime prevention.

He further reaffirmed the command’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for the KHAIRUN community, ensuring that teaching, learning and research continue to thrive in a peaceful atmosphere.
