During the past week, the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations paid a visit of gratitude to our distinguished Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN.

The Vice Chancellor was joined by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olubunmi Omotesho, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Suleiman Ambali, the Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla, FCIML, the Bursar, Mr. Olalekan Sonde, and the University Librarian, Dr. Kamaldeen Omopupa.

The purpose of their visit was to express their sincere appreciation for Prof. Egbewole's unwavering support following the election of Dr. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi as a Council member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Dr. Abdulbaqi's election, alongside 16 other public relations scholars and practitioners, took place at the NIPR's 2023 Annual Conference/AGM held in Abuja this past August.

She referenced the Vice Chancellor's message before the election, 'I can't wait to celebrate Abdulbaqi as NIPR Council Member,' in the press release signed by the Director of the institution's Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, and appreciated the Vice Chancellor for his prophetic declaration of her victory.

Responding, our Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Olusupo Egbewole, SAN, expressed his appreciation for the visit and encouraged the delegation to continue upholding our university's outstanding reputation.

The Vice Chancellor later received a certificate as a recognition of his exemplary practice of public relations ethics.

Leading the delegation was the newly elected Council Member, Dr. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, FNIPR, who also serves as the immediate Chairperson of the Kwara Chapter of the Institute. Among the other esteemed members of the delegation were the Acting Chairman of NIPR Kwara Chapter, Mr. Gbenga Ishola; the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, mnipr; to name a few.
