Kwara State Polytechnic Students Demand Transparency and Justice Following AbdulQoyum Ishola's Death
Students issue a 24-hour ultimatum to the police, demanding information about the officers involved in Ishola's death and vowing peaceful protests for justice.
Students of Kwara State Polytechnic have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the state police command, demanding the immediate release of information regarding the police officers allegedly involved in the death of AbdulQoyum Ishola.
Led by the President of the Students Union Government, Comrade Saheed Ishola, the students are poised to take peaceful protest actions if their demands are not met. They seek justice not only for Ishola but also for transparency and accountability from law enforcement officials.
The students’ demands include the public disclosure of the names of the officers involved in the incident, a thorough investigation conducted without secrecy or ambiguity, an immediate halt to ongoing stop-and-search operations by the police, and restitution for Ishola's family.
In a heartfelt appeal, the students have called upon Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to support their quest for justice, emphasizing their commitment to peaceful protests and recognizing the Students Union Government as the legitimate representative body of the student populace.
"The time for justice is now," stated Comrade Ishola during a press briefing. "We will not rest until we see accountability and fairness for our fallen brother."
The students remain determined to pursue their demands through lawful means, rallying support from fellow students and the wider community as they seek to ensure that their voices are heard.
