LASU Student Wins LASEPA's 2024 Environmental Essay Competition

Sowemimo Efunjola, a 500-level student at Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), emerged victorious in the 2024 World Environment Day essay competition hosted at Alausa, Lagos State. Organized by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) in collaboration with Dangote Industries and Nigerian Breweries, the competition focused on "Innovative Approaches to Land Restoration, Combating Desertification, and Enhancing Drought Resilience in the Lagos Environment."
Dr. Tunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, highlighted the competition's aim to engage undergraduates from Lagos State's tertiary institutions in environmental preservation. He emphasized its role in promoting youth involvement in implementing governmental strategies against climate change and fostering sustainable environmental development.
