Meet Adeyinka John, The President, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), ATBU

Meet Adeyinka John, The President, Society of Petroleum Engineers, ATBU

Adeyinka John was born and raised in Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos State. He hails from the Soke family, one of the five ruling families of the Great Owu kingdom in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He attended Bimstar Nursery and Primary School for his primary education and later furthered his secondary education at Fountain of Wisdom Comprehensive College, Lagos, where he graduated as one of the best science students in the school. His passion for the energy sector led him to further his education at ATBU to study Petroleum Engineering.

Even with so many obligations on his plate, Adeyinka has dedicated his time to passing knowledge to friends and younger ones, both within his department and the Engineering Faculty. He served as the Director of Academics for NUESA and has been awarded the overall best student in his class for four consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2021, & 2022). Currently, Adeyinka holds the position of President at the Society of Petroleum Engineers ATBU chapter.

In addition to his scholastic successes, Adeyinka enjoys long-distance training and football. He demonstrates his dedication to giving back to society by actively engaging in volunteer work and community service. He also has a strong interest in data analysis.
