Mekelle University Launches living lab at Tsige'a and Genete tabiaa at Woreda Raya Azebo

Mekelle University is launching a living lab with the objective of empowering women and youth households through asset building (livestock distribution) and improving farmers' livelihood and nutrition through Papaya and other fruits. The project is funded by MU-HU-NMBU-ICP V program. 

The launching program is undertaken in Mehoni town where regional, zonal, woreda, and tabia officials; and members of Mekelle University management and researchers of Mekelle University are gathered together. Dr Eyasu Yazew, who officially launched the project, underlined that Mekelle University will continue its research and community engagement activtiies that improve livelihood of the community. Prof. Girmay Genresamuel, the cooedinator of the project, on his part stressed that Mekelle Universirt in general and the college of Agriculture and Natural Resources will always be in the living lab to ensure that the project becomes successult and meets its objective.

 Mr. Alembirhan Harifeyo, head of Tigray Bureau of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Mr. Zinabu Gebremedhin, adminstrator of Southern Zone of Tigray underlined that they will do whatever required from them to successfully implement the project.
