MOUAU Issues Urgent Notice on Public Holidays

The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) community is hereby informed that the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, 25th December 2025; Friday, 26th December 2025; and Thursday, 1st January 2026 as public holidays for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Consequently, all University offices will remain closed on the stated public holidays. Members of staff are requested to ensure that all electrical appliances and gadgets in their offices are switched off before leaving.

However, staff on essential services—including the Security Unit, University Health Services, University Farms, and Power/Electricity Supply Units—are required to remain on duty during the holidays.

The Security Unit is directed to ensure adequate surveillance across the campus and other designated areas throughout the holiday period.

Please note:

  • Work resumes on Monday, 29th December 2025, after the Christmas holidays.
  • Work also resumes on Friday, 2nd January 2026, after the New Year holiday.

All members of the University community are advised to take note and comply accordingly.
